An Italian born artist later created the infamous icon of the green devil as the label for Maurin Quina.

Created in 1884 by Mr. Auguste Maurin in Le Puy. A sweet white wine fortified with an infusion of wild cherries and quinine in a neutral grape spirit, with measured amounts of cherry brandy, lemon and cherry juice added.
