In the latest installment in the 'More Than Maraschino' video series, master mixologist Francesco Lafranconi shows us how to make the Lady Whisper Cocktail. Luxardo Apricot Liqueur won first prize during a competition for a new, innovative Italian liqueur, held in Rome in 1935. This is why the label states "Liquore della Lupa", Lupa being the female of the wolf and the symbol of Rome. In the Lady Whisper Cocktail, the liqueur provides a well rounded and sweet flavor and a persistent fragrance that combines well with the richness of the rum and rye whiskey.

The Glenrothes Extraordinary Cask


Berry Bros. & Rudd has unveiled 179 bottles of the aptly titled Glenrothes Extraordinary Cask, with 50 bottles imported to the US by Anchor Distilling Company. Bottled in a hand-blown lead crystal decanter created at Atlantis Crystal in Portugal, mounted on a Scottish Oak plinth and housed in a custom leather carrying case, the spirit is priced at $5,000 apiece. Inside the rich packaging is an ultra-rare whisky born from a 1970 single cask distillate.

In this first episode of the 'Luxardo Liqueurs - More Than Maraschino' video series featuring Master Mixologist Francesco Lafranconi, learn about the history of the 6th generation Italian family owned company and surprise your guests with a Peruvian Wish. Francesco's wish is that Pisco become one of the best selling spirits in the world. Thus, the Peruvian Wish Cocktail was born. In the style of a Negroni, Francesco builds on the Barsol Pisco base with Luxardo Maraschino as well as Luxardo Amaro Abano to create a complex but accessible drink that brings Peru and Italy together. Recipe 1 1/2 oz - 45 ml Barsol Primero Quebranta Pisco 3/4 - 22.5 ml Luxardo Amaro Abano 3/4 - 22.5 ml Luxardo Maraschino Instructions Stir ingredients with an ice sphere or large ice cubes. Strain into a a chilled cocktail glass over previously used ice sphere or large ice cubes. Garnish with grapefruit peel and lemon balm.
